It was Senior Night and the Seniors didn’t disappoint!  Trevor Stevens and Reece Markman connected on two goals each, followed with scores by Sabin Kshattry, Josh Katz, and sophomore Ramon Laredo.  Once again, the defense of Justin Butler, Adolphus Franzak, Josh Katz, and goalkeeper David Rehfuss held Prosper to a scoreless game.  With 16 Seniors, it was a special night of recognition, and each of these players will be greatly missed:

David Rehfuss, Kyle Poupart, Sabin Kshattry, Sam Evans, Taylor Pierce, Chris Stewart, Reece Markman, Juan Bonigno, Justin Butler, Josh Katz, Coleman Ord, Trevor Stevens, Keegan Smith, Adolphus Franzak, Gil Castaneda, and Luke Joyner.

The Mustangs look forward to their first play-off game Thursday at 5:00 pm at HillcrestHigh School.

It only took one goal to guarantee a spot in the Boys Varsity Soccer Playoffs.  The game against Little Elm Friday evening was a defensive battle, but Reece Markman finally connected with Keegan Smith on a free kick in the second half to earn Pearce a 1-0 win over Little Elm.  The Pearce defense of Justin Butler, Scott Luetdke, Adolphus Franzak, Josh Katz, and goalkeeper Robbie Ramirez has held tight to allow zero goals in the last three games.

Tonight the boys will play their last regular season home game against Prosper at 6:00 pm today for Senior Night.

A team of West JH faculty and administrators "schooled" some of their 8th-graders Thursday afternoon, but the lessons didn't center around mathematics or science.

Rather, the faculty handed members of West's 8th-grade boys and girls basketball teams lessons on the pick-and-roll, alley-oop and fast break in basketball by downing the student squad 35-10 in the school's annual Faculty vs. Students basketball game.

It was Teacher Appreciation Night and the Boys Varsity Soccer team didn’t want to disappoint their special guests.  The first half was a defensive battle and ended in a 0-0 tie.  The second half was a different story.  Luke Joyner was the first to strike, and from there, Pearce couldn’t be stopped.  Two more goals from Luke Joyner earned him a hat trick, and Kyle Poupart put in a decisive goal to put the game out of reach for the Cougars.

The Pearce defense of Justin Butler, Scott Luedtke, Adolphus Franzak, Josh Katz, and goalkeeper Robbie Ramirez earned the shutout against one of the leading scorers in the district.  A special thank you to all the teachers who came to support the Mustangs on Teacher Appreciation Night.  Our next game is Friday at 7:15 at Little Elm."

Pearce Boys Varsity Soccer battled till the end and came home with a 1-0 win over Frisco Centennial Friday night.  Pearce dominated the first half but only managed to convert once with a combination effort between Luke Joyner and Juan Bonigno.  They had several more opportunities in the second half but came up short.  Centennial pressured hard the last ten minutes of the game, but the defense held strong and maintained the 1-0 lead.  Pearce is still in the playoff hunt and faces a tough opponent next Tuesday, March 11, at 7:15 pm against the Colony at home.  This is also Teacher Appreciation Night.  Come cheer the Mustangs on to another win!
