The wheelchairs have been designed for various terrains and needs so they can be used in homes, on paved sidewalks or on rough roads with potholes. What happens when FBC McKinney leaves the building? We are about to find out! On April 26 & 27, our entire First Baptist McKinney and First McKinney North families will literally “leave the building” and worship the Lord through service within the community! Instead of going to church, we are going to be the church. Our focus in April is Transform Your World. We are seeking to discover the forgotten mission of Jesus and begin to look at the Church and our world in brand new ways. Families will go in to the community on both Saturday and Sunday and minister to hundreds right here in Collin County! Interested in getting involved? Please visit www.transformingyourworld.org today or call the church office at 972-542-0041. Remember we will not have worship services on our campuses on Sunday, April 27! Mon 28 Apr 2008 6:30 PM Pants That Fit Workshop
Do you have trouble finding or making pants that fit? Would you like help with solving this problem? Come and join us in this great workshop on how to fit pants — not to be confused with “jeans” which have their own set of rules. You will learn the basics of altering a pants pattern to your individual needs. You will construct a basic pair of pants in class to test and refine alterations in fabric. This is a hands-on class; the information will build upon itself and will require some work to be done outside of the classroom before the following week’s class. You must bring to class your own sewing machine, which should be in good working order, and an extension cord. You should already know how to thread and operate it. Fri 02 May 2008 7:00 PM Dan Fogelberg Memorial Concert
Friday, May 2 at 7 pm, Asbury Hall – Lovers Lane United Methodist Church Open to the Public - Cost: FREE Donations benefiting “Nothing But Nets” African Malaria Campaign In tribute to Dan Fogelberg’s recent untimely death, the Connections Band will bring his music to Asbury Hall at Lovers Lane UMC, to honor the memory of this great performer. You will hear many of his best known songs - "Leader of the Band", "Same Ol’ Lang Syne", “Run for the Roses", "Longer" – and many other gems from his career. The concert is FREE. A love offering will be taken for "Nothing But Nets," the project that provides mosquito nets to African families. It is estimated that every 30 seconds, a child in Africa dies because of malaria – more tragic because malaria is a preventable disease. With only $10.00, you can send a net across the world to save a life.

Fri 02 May 2008 6:30 PM evelyn glennie
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra has partnered with DRUMS NOT GUNS for this special event! Friday, May 2nd - Evelyn Glennie performing a DSO premier percussion concerto with Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Evelyn is the first person in musical history to successfully create and sustain a full-time career as a solo percussionist. As one of the most eclectic and innovative musicians on the scene today she is constantly redefining the goals and expectations of percussion, and creating performances of such vitality that they almost constitute a new type of performance. What is amazing is – she is profoundly deaf.... Take advantage of this opportunity to hear one of the most amazing percussionists of our time! In 1993 Evelyn was awarded the OBE (Officer of the British Empire). This was extended this year to 'Dame Commander' for her services to music, and to date has received approximately 80 international awards. For more information about Dame Evelyn, see drumsnotguns.org
