Sat 13 Sep 2008 9:00 AM I'll Step Up My Game For Michael
Dear Friends and Community: Over the holiday weekend there was a tragedy among our community and I am hoping to tell you the story so we can get the word out to as many people as possible to help a Mesquite family in desperate need. Early Sunday morning there was an auto accident involving three teenagers traveling back to college. Two walked away but one was not as fortunate. Michael Delgado, 17 years old, from Mesquite had to be freed from the car by using "jaws of life" and care-flighted to the nearest hospital, Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. After undergoing 10 hours of surgery his parents were given the devastating news that he would never walk again. His injuries from this accident were so severe it has left him paralyzed from the waist down. He faces more surgeries and rehabilitation. Michael was featured in the Mesquite News last year for his college signing to play soccer at Howard Payne University. He was a varsity soccer player

Sun 14 Sep 2008 8:30 AM Detox Your Relationships
SERMON SERIES Worship Time 8:30 & 11:00 AM More and more people these days are undergoing a detox. Toxins from our food and our suburban “habitat” build up in our bodies over time and can make us feel sluggish and discontent. A detox can help us expel these toxins and restore our physical health and vitality. All of us are exposed to spiritual toxins as well – daily patterns, personal habits, past experiences, and cultural values that sap our spiritual strength and steal our joy. This sermon series will help you become aware of the toxins building up in your soul and give you tools for detoxing your spiritual life and restoring your spiritual health.
