Michael Quinn Sullivan
"Empower Texans"
Enjoy an evening of a powerful speaker, good food and fellowship.
Michael Quinn Sullivan is president and CEO of Empower Texans, and its premier project, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility.
The Fort Worth Star Telegram has said Sullivan “slays taxpayer dragons in Austin… When the heat is on in Austin, Michael Quinn Sullivan knows how to make it even hotter.” The Dallas Morning News has called him an "agitator, whose name has been invoked — both in earnest and with scorn — in both chambers" of the legislature.

360: Tony Feher (Artist) The Nasher’s ongoing speaker series features conversations and lectures on the ever-expanding definition of sculpture and the thought processes behind some of the world’s most innovative artwork, architecture and design.
Tony Feher came to prominence in the early 1990s, when he was affiliated with a new generation of Postminimal artists and the “scatter-art” movement. Feher makes use of everyday objects, often in a serial manner that highlights their formal qualities and imbues them with personal meaning.
Roberta Smith writes in The New York Times, “Mr. Feher is a poet but also an engineer of the everyday whose materials include marbles, plastic bags and straws, bottles and jars of all description, coat hangers and chair legs.”
Free with Admission. Free for Members. Complimentary wine reception. To RSVP, please contact 360RSVP@NasherSculptureCenter.org or call 214.242.5159. | Nasher Sculpture Center 2001 Flora Street

Johnny Cooper | Phil Pritchett | Quaker City Johnny Cooper, at the age of 23, has accomplished more than many musicians twice his age. Having recorded two critically-acclaimed, full-length studio albums (and another in the works) and not one, but two live albums under his belt – the total album sales of which have eclipsed 50,000 – Johnny Cooper’s career trajectory cannot be stopped. He recently had two songs included on the soundtrack for the independent movie, Deep In The Heart, which also includes tracks from Charlie Daniels, Larry Gatlin, Wade Bowen, and others. Riding high on the success of 2007’s Ignition – which, alone, has sold over 25,000 copies – and 2009’s Follow, Johnny Cooper now releases Live At The Pub II, a collection of songs that his band recorded live, over the course of two nights, to some of their most devoted fans.

Girls / Unknown Mortal / Orchestra TICKETS: @ granadatheater.com It’s rare to find something as true and beautiful as the band Girls. Listening to their music, it’s as though Christopher Owens and JR White were meant to find each other, sincere rock and roll soul mates in the age of irony. And while that might sound like fancy, it’s closer to the truth than you think.“If you’re going to San Francisco…”Just as the Velvets crackled with New York City electricity and Smiths’ songs came soaked in Manchester drizzle, so the music of Girls captures the stoned and sun-brushed outlook of life in San Francisco. | Granada Theater 3524 Greenville Avenue

Dr. Dog / Givers TICKETS: @ granadatheater.com As a band that has traditionally built their scrappily spirited albums layer by layer in the undisturbed seclusion of their Philadelphia studio, Dr. Dog realized they would need to leave these comforts and work in a professional studio with the help of an outside engineer and producer if they were to continue their album-by-album growth. Having evolved from a band whose primary creative outlet was the album-making process into one that increasingly favored the energy of their live performances, they knew they wanted to document the new dynamic they had developed on the road. | Granada Theater 3524 Greenville Avenue

The tour also offers participants a rare opportunity to explore the aircraft inside and out and learn more about these unique and rare treasures of aviation history. The B-17 is one of only 10 in flying condition in the United States, and the B-24J is the sole remaining example of its type flying in the world.
Admission to the Museum is $12 for adults and $7 for children under 12 and includes access to up-close viewing and tours through the inside of the aircraft. Some adventurous fans will have an incredible opportunity accomplish one of their “bucket list” goals by actually taking a 30-minute flight aboard these rare aircraft. Spring Lecture Welcomes Rabbi Michael Lerner Rabbi Michael Lerner is coming to Dallas! The Dallas Peace Center's 8th annual lecture event features best-selling author Michael Lerner, PhD, rabbi of Beyt Tikkun synagogue in San Francisco. Rabbi Lerner is the editor of Tikkun magazine, one of the most respected intellectual/cultural magazines in the Jewish world.
Rabbi Lerner will examine how the mutual demonization and discounting of Israel's and Palestine's legitimate needs drive ongoing antagonism in the Middle East. He will explore the underlying psychological dynamics that fuel the seeming intransigence on both sides.
Lerner speaks to the importance of being both pro-Israel and pro-Palestine, challenges the master narratives in both Israel and Palestine to the extent that they demean the other side, and exposes the false idea that "homeland security" (either for Israel or for the U.S.) can be achieved through military, political, economic, or cultural domination.
Lerner argues that real security is best achieved throug | Unity of Dallas 6525 Forest Lane

Band of Skulls / We Are Augustines TICKETS: @ granadatheater.com Band of Skulls are a U.K.-based rock trio that messes with categorization, hopscotching from classic rock to garage rock to post-punk and more; they even manage to sound like Fairport Convention at times. Meanwhile, their songs have been used in a Ford Mustang ad, The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Friday Night Lights.
