Literacy Tutor Training Session

Helps adults become productive members of the community by building literacy skills and self-esteem. LFL provides free and confidential one-on-one tutoring. Serves non-readers, poor readers, and those who have immigrated from other countries and are struggling to read, write, and comprehend English. Tutoring sessions are held at all Plano libraries. Tutors: Must be adult who has completed high school and has a good command of the English language. Must attend tutor training workshop (6 hrs, $20 donation) and provide a 6-month commitment. A sense of humor and patience are helpful! Students: Must be 18 years of age, live in Collin County, have basic English conversational skills, read below 5th grade level, and commit to practicing new skills outside of tutorials. 972.941.7323 or visit planolibrary.org.
