Dallas CASA Stand Up for Abused Children Even
500 Main St.
Dallas
TX
Dallas CASA, an organization of volunteers who serve as voices for abused children in court, is holding a press conference on October 16 to unveil 850 life-sized displays of children – representing nearly half of the children in foster care on an average day in Dallas County. Dallas CASA, Dallas County, and the city of Dallas want to urge Dallas citizens to help the more than 2,000 Dallas County children that have been removed from their homes. Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert, Texas Supreme Court Justice, Harriet O’Neill, Dallas County Judge, Jim Foster, Juvenile Court Judge, Cheryl Lee Shannon and CASA representatives will address the community about child abuse, the challenges facing the foster care system and the need for more community involvement.
