Free Concert - Handel's Saul

Mark your calendars for the next free Bancroft Family Concert on November 22 featuring highlights from Handel's moving oratorio, [i]Saul[/i]. Conducted by the Dallas Opera Music Director, Maestro Graeme Jenkins, the performance will be held in Horchow Auditorium at the DMA. The doors open at 2:30pm for a 3:00pm concert. The performance is one hour in length with no intermission. No admission fee or reservations required! Maestro Jenkins will lead twelve musicians through selections of Handel's musical interpretations of the biblical story of Saul, David, and Jonathan. Among Saturday's cast of acclaimed performers will be British countertenor Ryland Angel as David, Jeffrey Snider in the title role of Saul, Derek Chester as Jonathan, Lynn Eustis as Michal, and Sarah Griffiths as Merab. Accompanying the soloists will be an ensemble of UNT students and faculty performing on period string instruments and a continuo group that includes harpsichord (Lenora McCroskey), Baroque cello
