A chat with the cast and creator of Adam

The new rodramacom (just made that word up, don’t try and steal it) from writer director Max Mayer is a heartwarming film that you may be inclined to ignore.  But to do so would be to miss a movie full of charm, humor and depths of emotion. I sat down with Mayer as well as the films two stars, Hugh Dancy (Adam) and Rose Byrne (Beth) to talk about this latest release.Click the audio links to hear it in their own words.

In the film the main character, Adam, has Asperger's Syndrome.  I asked Max how he prepared for writing this script and where the idea came from initially. LISTEN

Regardless of the type of film if there is even the slightest sense of romance then chemistry is important. But what is it that draws Adam and Beth together? LISTEN

Dancy has the task of bringing Adam to life. But how does one prepare to play a character with a Syndrome like Aspergers? LISTEN And more importantly what traits do you bring to light in a 90 minute film? LISTEN

Byrne plays the love interest of Adam but finds herself drawn to him as well. But theirs would have to be a difficult relationship. LISTEN

This film could easily be called Beth since her character has many emotional moments. How were those elements incorporated into the writing of the script? LISTEN

In a summer of special effects blockbusters what makes this movie hold its ground and stand tall? LISTEN

Adam opens wide on Friday August 14th. Check back then for my full length official review.
