The Allen Event Center, located at 200 E. Stacy Road, will open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. An open house will follow at 11 a.m., providing a first look at the event center and the community ice rink.

Reba McEntire will headline in the grand opening concert Friday.

The venue is a 188,000-square-foot multipurpose facility that features two sheets of ice and 6,135 fixed seats with the capacity to seat up to 8,600 for non-ice events. The center will serve as home to concerts, trade shows, professional sporting events and the Allen Americans, the Dallas Stars affiliated Central Hockey League team.
The Allen Americans, 4-1, who lost their first game to the Texas Brahmas on Oct. 31, will play their first home game Saturday.
