The RISD junior high track season was slowed getting out of the blocks by Mother Nature with the cancellation of the two Thursday, March 6 meets due to a wintry mix of precipitation that fell throughout the day.
The JH track season opened with a Feb. 28 practice meet and will continue next week with two Wednesday afternoon meets on March 6 at Richardson High and Berkner High. Both meets feature boys' competition starting at 3:45 p.m. and girls taking to the tracks and fields at 5 p.m.
The Richardson High meet will feature competition among the seventh- and eighth-grade teams for both boys and girls from North, Westwood, Lake Highlands and Forest Meadow.
The Berkner High meet will feature the same teams from Liberty, Apollo, Parkhill and West junior highs.
