From the Chairman of the Board

As I reflect with admiration and appreciation on the great work accomplished in 2007-2008 by the Coppell Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Chamber staff and supporters, it is clear that the Coppell Chamber is in good posture and has a good sense of direction for the future.

The 2007-2008 Board of Directors, led by Chairman David Geeslin, has stayed on course with plans to grow and enhance the Chamber. As the incoming Chairman, I hope to continue in the same spirit.
The variety of the Chamber’s activities is virtually unlimited, based on community needs and the ability of the Chamber to meet those needs. Members can become more involved in the Chamber’s operation by joining a committee. Volunteering on a committee only requires a small amount of time, but what a difference it can make! Your participation, ideas, and support are welcome and encouraged.
The Ambassador Committee is dedicated to welcoming new members with a ribbon cutting and integrating them into our Chamber family.
The Small Business Advocate Committee strives to assist small businesses by offering beneficial workshops and sponsoring the annual Fall Festival Trade Fair in October.
Our hardworking Education Committee works hand-in-hand with area school districts to support and assist student development in Coppell. Proudly awarding scholarships to high school seniors culminates their fundraising efforts each year.
I was honored to chair the 2008 Gala Committee for this years’s Silver Margarita Ball: Celebrating 25 Years of the Coppell Community Gala. Every year, this event continues to highlight the wonderful cohesiveness between the Chamber and our community. The 2008 Gala was no exception, with a great time had by all!
The list of opportunities continues on to include our Leads Networking Group and our annual Chamber Golf Classic to our environmentally conscious Greenstorming Group. There is a place for everyone to connect into the Chamber!
As our new Chamber year begins on April 1, 2008, I would like to thank our outgoing Board members: Dan Garber of State Farm Insurance, Charles Heath of Metrocrest Hospital Authority and Ed Spalding of Coppell Travel. These three gentlemen have unselfishly donated their time and expertise to insure the success of the Chamber over the years.
Without a doubt, the Coppell Chamber is and will be a key component of supporting positive progress in our city. The success of area businesses is critical to the success of the community. By joining the Chamber you have the support of other local businesses and the many benefi ts of Chamber membership. I look forward with great enthusiasm to the great things that we will accomplish together!

Bill Holtz, AllStar Office Supply, was elected to serve as the 2008-2009 Coppell Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board.
