Print, online and TV media outlets in the Dallas-Fort Worth area frequently visit neighborsgo.com for story ideas.

How do we know this? Because we keep an eye on these news outlets and often see reports based on stories that were first posted on our site. And we sometimes drive up to talk to a contributor just as a Ch. 11 truck has pulled away or a Park Cities People reporter has recently called. (Also, I once got a call from a Fox 4 news reporter about the trouble I was having with keeping a holiday decoration upright on my lawn in the face of the fierce Frisco wind. I didn't respond, but someone who commented on his post - no names, Kip - was also contacted about a potential TV report.)

So when we refer to neighborsgo.com as "the starting point for your news," we mean it. Anything posted on this site - stories, blogs or photos - has the potential to appear in one of our 18 weekly neighborsgo print editions. But there's also a good chance that other media in the area will pick it up, too.

Don't believe us? Just ask Carmen Koger about her recent experience.

It might be this week. Or it might be next week. Or it might be never.

Editors base their decisions on what to run in print on the timeliness, relevancy and community-centric nature of your post.

We publish neighborsgo every Friday, and our deadline for material that you post on neighborsgo.com is noon by the previous Friday. (e.g., To run in our Jan. 30 editions, we need you to post your stories and photos on neighborsgo.com by Jan. 23 at noon.)
