Fourth of July and most traditional holiday festivities still are a week away, but for some folks eager to avoid the event rush next Friday – and for a weekly publication such as your neighborsgo – it starts this weekend.

The Duck Creek area of Richardson hosts its annual Independence Day Parade at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Syracuse and North St. Johns drives behind Huffhines Recreation Center.

And from here, it looks like a very nice, traditional, quintessentially American event.
