From the reaction of the audience, Jason Castro had to know he was home. The Amercan Idols Live! Top Ten Concert Tour came to Dallas last night (yes, on the the first day of school) and dreadhead fans came from across the globe to see their favorite American Idol perform live at the American Airlines Center. Among the fans: neighborsgo editor Kandace Dodson and me. I'm still going through more than a hundred photos I took of the concert and the "meet and greet" after party that Kandace and I were lucky enough to attend.

Mary Ann Simpson was there, and presented this quilt to Jason Castro on behalf of all the dreadhead fans who created personalized swatches to show their love and appreciation for Jason.

Jason wrapped himself in the quilt and posed for this photo with Mary Ann.

"This was one of the most personally rewarding projects in the gifting of my skills and time. I feel blessed that God chose me as the instrument to make this idea of a quilt come to life…  What I gave to the project I have received back ten-fold.  I hope this quilt will touch you all the way it touched those who participated in making it.  It was a wonderful group effort of love and imagination," Mary Ann wrote me.

It's intermission at the American Airlines Center. So far, Chikezie, Ramiele Malubay, Michael Johns, Kristy Lee Cook, Carly Smithson and Brooke White have performed.

According to neighborsgo editors Dawn Redig and Kandace Dodson, Carly has been the early favorite. Her version of "Heart" (of course, few can compete with Ann Wilson) has left an impression.

The second half will have Jason, David Archuleta, David Cook and Syesha Mercado.

Make no mistake. The crowd is eager for Jason Castro to appear. Duh.

That squeal you hear out of Frisco this afternoon will be from Shannon Smith, a 14-year-old freshman at Liberty High School in Frisco who'll get a voicemail that she'll never want to delete.

Jason Castro, appearing outside the American Airlines Center this afternoon, left a personal message on her cellphone at about 2:30 p.m. Shannon will be out of class at 4, at which point she is expected to check her voicemails.

It was a great week for network reality-TV contestants from North Texas.

America voted. And because of their popularity and talent, they collectively won $600,000 (less taxes), a couple of entertainment contracts, two new autos and a chance to be a co-worker with Hulk Hogan.

Wow. Nice haul.

On Thursday night, Joshua Allen of Fort Worth won Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" and Greenhill School alum Eliza Schlesinger won NBC's "Last Comic Standing."

Joshua wins $250,000 and part in an upcoming 3-D dance movie (I bet they jump at the screen toward us). Eliza also won $250,000 and an exclusive talent deal with NBC, a new Honda and a starring appearance in Jubilee! at Bally's Las Vegas.

Texas, we've done it again!

After outstanding repeat performances of favorite dances throughout the season, a little filler here & there, Cat channeling her inner flapper & the awesome chance to see both Nigel & Mary finally showing off their own dancing chops, Ft. Worth's Joshua Allen was crowned winner of So You Think You Can Dance!

America's favorite dancer receives a $250K prize as well as a featured role in the forthcoming Step Up 3 in 3D.

Joshua mastered every task thrown his way this season, with a skill matched by no other dancer on the show when combined with his electric personality. As he did throughout the season, the dimpled hip-hopper was overcome with emotion as his name was annouced. So cute that the camera cut to his look-alike father shedding his share of happy tears.

Texas is truly a haven of talent. It's so good to be recognized.

Congratulations to Joshua, the new Lord of the Dance!

Wring out your leotards & hang dry your leg warmers Sugarlumps, the So You Think You Can Dance finale is here!

This season was not nearly long enough; last night's performances proved why. No matter who we wanted to see in these pairings, the Top 4 deserved their spots and each gave the performance of a lifetime.

Cat Attack: What can I say? Gorgeous, sporting a gold mini with flawless hair & makeup. I love the ease of her personal interview with each finalist. She's appealing & as interesting to listen to as her interviewees. Here's hoping she signed on for Season 5.....as if.

Guest Judge: The lovely, Emmy nominated Mandy Moore. So relaxed & humble, who'd know she's one of the coolest choreographers on the planet?

Twitch & Courtney - HIP HOP (Tabnap)
WOW. Courtney plays the part of deranged girlfriend to the hilt, and I totally believe Twitch as the poor recipient of her madness. Tabnap have been a great addition to SYTYCD - this humorous, skilled piece proves it.

Josh & Katee - LYRICAL (Wade)YES! The return of Wade, as if we didn't know. And none too late with this stunning piece of work. Sans the usual weirdness typically leaving the audience with more questions than answers. A love story with a complete, satisfying ending. Josh & Katee are truly magic.

Katee & Courtney - BROADWAY (Tyce)
Cute as can be. These ladies are adorable. Not sure if everyone will appreciate it, but the choreography was more complex than it appeared and requires plenty of lower body strength. Part of me wishes the choreographers would let the girls really go head up in a dance battle & not play best friends. I'm just sayin'.

Twitch & Joshua - RUSSIAN TYPYTYCH (Youri Nelzine)This is what I have been HOPING for!!!!! What an awesome display of strength, athleticism, and downright chutzpah. These two deserve to be here. What a joy to watch this fight. I am fan of both of these guys and wish they could both take the crown. Kudos to SYTYCD for exploring new territory with different genres this year. Oh my: I totally expected these two to go old-school hip hop on us. What an unexpected & enjoyable delight we got instead.

Twitch/Katee - FOX TROT (Tony & Melanie)
I sing the praises of the choreographers alot, but have Tony & Melanie ever let us down? They get props for extremely intricate, personal stories told through motion on this stage. This love story was no different....and Katee got her man! I was nervous Twitch may not pull it off, but these two threw it down with elegance, class & grace.

Joshua & Courtney - JIVE (Jason Gilkinson)Something was lacking for me, but I'm pretty sure it was the style. Excellent & technical choreo and good energy from the dancers, but I wasn't feeling it. This was the first time the judges really called out anyone all night, and they were actually correct in doing so.

THE FINAL FOUR: Contemporary (Mia)
This is what I'm talking about! What an awesome display of work. Excellent way to close the show. Mary said Twitch stood out. He did. He's a star. What more could we have expected of the group than the leaps, lifts and storytelling they executed in this the last great competitive piece of the season. I loved it. Best dance group ever.

So what do you think, Sugarlumps? Who is America's favorite dancer? Were you pleased with the choreo? Was the guy's dance off what you'd hoped for? Are you hoping Debbie Allen doesn't have any more students on the show next season so we can see her back as a judge? Are you ready to see Phillip/Robert go toe to toe? Like Katee, Is Hometown Josh America's boo? And finally, do you have your Tabasco & potato chips ready for the watch party?

I could barely breathe during last night's So You Think You Can Dance. Maybe Cat's wind machine made my asthma act up. Maybe I was suffering from Tabasco withdrawal (not a drop yesterday!) Or maybe it was the awesomeness of this year's Top Six tickling my sentimental side.

This has been a great season.

Cat was gorgeous in an electric off the shoulder, royal blue dress with silver strappy sandals one can only hope the fashionista angels put up on Ebay.

Adam Shankman returns, sweetening up the winner's pot with an offer of a featured dancer role in an upcoming movie. SCORE.

Mandy Moore has been all over it this season. She has gotten her props (and well deserved Emmy nod) for work such as the beautiful opening number. Please don't let this mean she will not choreo next week's final somewhere, somehow.

Every solo rocked tonight. Funny, because this was the most pressured night the dancers have had this summer. Even though they all have job offers waiting (you just know they do, it's easy to want this for all of them because they want it so bad. Joshua was however, awesomeness personified & Twitch is a star. My teen dancers squealing each time these two show up on screen is very telling. (But they scream louder for Josh.)

Lil Demon: Once I get past the unfortunate moniker (for which his parents shouldn't trip if he starts showing his hindquarters - it's all in a name, right?) this little dude is all that. Seriously. Too cute for words. Major props for being a good interviewee. I'd like to see where this kid goes.

Lady Ga Ga: So strange, so cool. I actually like the song & the performance. My dancers say I must be in a good mood.

So Josh & Katee were safe off the top (despite our Cat trying to assure us their being called first meant nothing - uh yeah) and Chelsie & Mark being shown the curtain.

I am a tad surprised with the girls, but Courtney deserves to be there. As much as I love Mark, it's America's favorite dancer. Twitch is a star & connects with the people. So YES, my prayers have been answered & I will get to see Twitch & Josh go head to head next Wednesday. I am at peace.

So what do you think, onion tarts? Are you ready for next week's dance battle? Do you have your legwarmers & sweatbands ready to go? Who do you think will choreograph? Will my beloved Wade show up? Who are you axcited to see come back? (GEV). What about the Philip/Robert showdown? And finally, does anyone have a copy of Electric Boogaloo I can borrow????
