The Berkner High School boys basketball team earned their fourth consecutive trip to the postseason, after finishing the regular season with a tough loss to district-leading Plano West last week, according to the Rams News Update.

Lake Highlands HS varsity boys shut out Allen, 2-0, in District 9-5A while Pearce prospered, 8-1, in 14-4A action Friday night. 

It was a decidedly mixed night for our RISD girls varsity squads.

The Pearce Boys Varsity Soccer Team came out fast and hard against Prosper Friday night, determined to come home with a win. 

The J.J. Pearce High School boys swim and dive team won the Region 4A meet Feb. 7-8 at Southlake pool, while the Pearce girls finished second, reports Diane Robinson, team representative.

Boys and girls teams will send a flotilla of swimmers to the state 4A meet scheduled Feb. 22-23 at the University of Texas Natatorium in Austin.

"We had some great swims," Robinson said.

Lake Highlands High School varsity boys team (4-1-0) kept pace with Allen and Plano in District 9-5A standings, defeating Richardson-Berkner, 2-1, Tuesday, according to the Web site, "HS Game Time".

The son of Our Sports blog editor Mark Macesich plays midfield for the J.J. Pearce High School junior varsity soccer squad, taking a big step toward realizing his long-time dream of playing for the Pearce Mustangs varsity.
