My boys wanted to see Transformers, my dauhgter wanted ice Age 2, which wasn't out yet. so, Transformers it was and we'll let ya know about ice Age soon!

I loved both of the Transformers movies!!! thumbs up, 4 stars, all that biz. I liked that the mom got a lot bigger role in this second one. she is  Park Cities local Terry McCouloghs sister and I keep meaning to e-mail or call and ask Terry ifher sister is that hilarious in real life or just are darn great actress! or, maybe both? That woman cracks me up and i could see her getting a TV series based on the character she plays in these movies.  

Yeah, my boys, 8 and 9 do think megan is Hot.

It is impossible to sit through The Hurt Locker, without a knot in your stomach and your teeth on edge.  This gritty fictional portrayal of a U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team on duty in Iraq in 2004 appears at first to be a documentary thanks to the imagery and violent action in this intense war film.

I put my hope in an outlaw. In this less than mediocre summer of earlier anticipated films I was hoping that the new Michael Mann directed gangster flick would salvage what was left of the season. The poster had me hooked from day one. Johnny Depp with trench coat and tommy-gun was enough to make girls swoon and guys say heck ya. Public Enemies release on July 1 could not come soon enough. But now that it is here I still walked out missing that wow factor. Good? Better than good. Worth seeing? Absolutely. Depp deliver? As always. But I wanted wow and got decent. (more)

The last thing you expect when going to see a movie about bank robbers is to be bored halfway through. But that’s exactly what happens in PUBLIC ENEMIES, the new film from Michael Mann.

The film is an adaptation of Bryan Burrough's non-fiction book Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933–34. Set during the Great Depression, FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) attempts to capture notorious criminal and “public enemy number one” John Dillinger (Johnny Depp).

Transformers-Revenge of the Fallen is one of the most eagerly anticipated movies of the summer (That must be true because it says so all over the Internet). Although the movie has a number of flaws, overall, it does not disappoint. Some new robots (a couple of hip-hop ghetto bots) are added to the familiar mix of Optimus Prime, Bumble Bee (and the evil Decepticons) and the old cast is back for another attempt to save the world from the aliens, who look like everyday cars and planes.

The sequel is directed by Michael Bay who cut his teeth on action movies with his big screen debut, Bad Boys, in '95. He's been blowing up stuff on screen every since. In Transformers 2 Bay has created some incredible special effects but he uses the super slow mo just a little too much for my taste. I don't need to see every brick fall when a Decepticon plows down an Egyptian pyramid; however, showing Megan Fox running in super slow motion wearing a tight, low cut blouse was a nice touch. But hey, that's just my opinion.

Also, the movie runs a bit long at exactly 2 hours and 30 minutes. Some of the drawn out robot fight scenes could have been cut a little, but again the payoff at the end makes this movie a keeper. The movie is rated PG-13 for some intense sci-fi violence which may scare younger children.

In the end I was very pleased with the return adventure of Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) and his sexy girlfriend (Megan Fox). Buy a large popcorn and a small drink (because the movie's long) and just keep in mind; The Autobots are the good guys and The Decepticons are the bad guys. That's all you'll need to know to have a good time at Transformers-Revenge of the Fallen

I am not so ostentatious or conceited to think that considering what I write here will actually impact the box-office ticket sales for the new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen flick. To believe that you are waiting, money in hand, to read every last word of this review before you rush out to see the most anticipated film release of the summer would be ludicrous. But that said I think you at least need to know what is in store before you go. This will save you the same disappointments I experienced and maybe stifle the hype enough for you to enjoy it even more. One can only hope. (more)

Jack Black as a caveman, Michael Cera as his soft spoken sidekick; with a script written by the guy who brought us Animal House, Stripes, Caddyshack and Ghostbusters. That should be a formula for a pretty decent, off-the-wall comedy, wouldn’t you think? Well, sadly you would be wrong. Lately something has happened to the formula and all we get are comedies with an older audience rating but with humor that is on a 5th grade level. Sure films like Stripes and Animal House had moments of crudeness and sexual antics but there was an attempt to write something creative. This film has zero creativity and even less true humor. Mix that with thin characters and scenes that play like bad sketch comedy and you might as well toss Year One right on the garbage heap with Land of the Lost.

The Proposal is predictable, cookie cutter and lacks any genre surprises. But it is great! That is the beauty of the romantic comedy. As long as the onscreen chemistry exists between the couple in question and it is not a total flop of writing and acting then the rest we seem to be able to overlook. There is no spoiler alert in stating that they end up together. We know they will end up together before the first glimpse of the opening logo. And the fact that Nicholas Sparks name is never mentioned you can be assured that everyone lives as well. So feel free to kick back, laugh and if you leave feeling a little bit romantic, even better.

Just when I was about to divorce myself from romantic comedies, along comes "The Proposal," a lively, amiable view of relationships. It’s certainly nothing new and it’s predictable as the unpredictable Texas weather, but "The Proposal" is held together by two engaging actors in Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds and you’re likely to leave the theatre with a big smile on your face. Even with such winning leads, "The Proposal" is stolen by a former Golden Girl who’s still quite golden when it comes to comedy. 

When a powerful, domineering book editor and Canadian Margaret (Bullock) faces deportation to the north country, the quick-thinking exec declares that she’s actually engaged to her unsuspecting put-upon assistant Andrew (Reynolds), who she’s abused for 3 years.
