We interrupt our normal programming to share links to coverage of Saturday night's incredible Houston-Tulsa football game,  which the No. 13 Cougars won, 46-45.

The game featured a touchdown, a missed two-point conversion, an onside kick and 51-yard winning field goal - and that was just in the final 21 seconds.

Matt McVeigh of Irving ISD posted a brief story on neighborsgo.com about a student who has started a jewelry business.

Irving neighborsgo editor Cassie Clark published the story in the Oct. 2 print edition:

WFAA-TV (Ch. 8) featured the story on its morning news show:

Matt's story featured this sentence:

Nguyen said the next step for her business is to be showcased on a daytime TV talk show.

Mission accomplished.

I recently received a distressing e-mail from abroad, which I am reproducing here:

My Dearest One,

I am Miss Aisha Kone, i need you to stand as my guardian to retrieve my inheritance usd $4.8 Millions Dollars which my father deposited in a bank here in Abidjan Cote D'Ivoire before his assasination for reasons which I will let you know as soon as I hear from you.

Yours Sincerely

Noting the urgency of the entreaty, I replied immediately:

The big upside to a day off from work is being with the family and doing stuff together.

The downside is when the "stuff schedule" collides.

Like today, when my wife and I awoke at the same time, got ready for our daily exercise routine ... and realized that we only had one treadmill in the house.

This, then, is the true story of how this circumstance prompted me to do something I haven't done in more than 20 years: jog outside.

I'm currently reading Oblomov by Ivan Goncharov.

The novel was published in 1859, but a passage on p. 146 could've been written today.

If only Jon Gosselin had read this. It's too late for him, but be warned, gentlemen: Don't let this happen to you!

Sure, it's just on Twitter. And I'm only one of  her nearly 1.9 million followers.

But I became concerned for her when I noticed that she hadn't Twittered in more than month. So I posted this last night:

@oprah hasn't tweeted in over a month. What's up with that?

The answer came this morning:

Been traveling with all my peeps 1525 harponians and their families to 5 countries 7 cities ...

14 day thank you cruise for all their hard work. Most grateful to get everyone home safely.

Whew! Glad she's OK! (Also, she provides a timely reminder - where should WE go on our 14-day thank-you cruise this year, neighborsgo staffers??)

My wife and I took a vacation to California recently with our 6-year-old daughter. This is our story. There will be references to Kobe Bryant, sharks, Cindy Crawford and more than 50 naked people on bicycles.

She's 6, and she just called me. She's really excited. Questions? Comments?

The topic is age - specifically, at what point are you officially "old"?

I'll spare you the suspense: The answer is 33, plus one day.

Best game of the weekend by far. I jumped out of my seat and yelled when that field goal went...
Dang it. Not a good year for Oklahoma football teams.
