Youth theatre group to present comedies

Bradly Weiler of the McKinney Repertory Theatre’s Young Actors Guild is a female villain in Foiled by an Innocent Maid, one of two comedic melodramas the guild will present 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21 and 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Aug. 22. The Young Actors Guild is the only educational youth theatre group in the CollinCounty area.

Johnson visits Connemara Conservancy


RJ Taylor, left, Luanne Samuel, U.S. Rep. Sam Johnson, Janelle MacDonald at the Connemara Conservancy in Allen. Johnson, who represents parts of Dallas and Collin counties, announced his co-sponsorship of legislation championed by the conservation community in North Texas, the Conservation Easement Incentive Act of 2009. Connemara is now one of over 40 land trusts working to preserve natural lands throughout Texas.  It is also the only regional land trust focusing solely on North Texas preservation.
