Is anyone reading this as tired of this Kanye West dude as I am? It just seems like there is a new story about this guy popping up every other day. I think he is talented but his ego has got to be put in check. He is a big whiny baby and then he talks about how great he is. What kind of role model is this guy? I guess he shouldnt be considered a role model but he is and thats infuriating.

I digress. He is on my mind today because he is about to release an energy drink. Yes. An energy drink. I am unsure of the name but its about to happen.

Why does this man need an energy drink? There are already 500 thousand different kinds of energy drinks and pills you can take to keep you awake.

I hate how this dude is being marketed to kids too in the form of energy drinks. Kids dont need energy drinks. 80 year old driving to the market do. Kids have enough energy. Plus, they cant be good for them with all of that sugar and caffeine. Kanye needs to promote a salad. A Kanye Salad. That would at least make me think he was trying to do something good for the youth, instead of pumping them full of sugar and feeding his own bak account.

MAybe I am over reacting but I dont think this ignoramous needs to have an enegry drink.

It has been a long time from the last time I was on here. So much has happened in life recently that has pretty much forbode me from getting on here and writing like I once was. What, you might ask was forbidding me from getting on here? Well, lets run the gammut!

#1. The Summer and Fall seasons for people that work in th radio business become extremely hectic! We are constantly on the go. Meetings here, live events there. All work and very little down time to jump on the computer to write a good article.

#2. I was laid off. Yes, thats right. Axed. Fired. Hasta La See-Ya Latered. So why couldnt I write with all of the down time? Well, I thought about it but then, once it sunk in that I had just been mercilessly fired by the hands of a tyrant, I decide to look for a job instead of blog and write all day.

#3. I moved. I was set at my place in Dallas and everything was good until the firing. Then I had to pack up the computer and move back to Mesquite. Which is okay. Its just that I am now living at my parents house. I love them to death but seriously. So anyway, I finally got the computer up and running here, so there is no excuse anymore to not write.

#4. I got a job and then I got another job. So I went from no job to 2 jobs almost over night! The bad thing about having 2 jobs is the lack of consistency. So therefore, on the days that I get to write, I sleep because I am exhausted. Today is a day that I got to write and look at me. I am writing. Good times!

Now, I need to catch you guys up on what happened at the Wolf! I will do that in my next posting!

With all of the hype around this years elections, I started thinking of who I would like to see as the President. However, I'm not talking about the real President, I'm talking about a sporting figure that could be the President.

There are a ton of candidates that come to mind that would be great leaders for this country. But my pick is the great David Robinson, formerly of the San Antonio Spurs. Granted, he played for the Spurs and as a Mavericks fan, I have to look beyond that. Here is a guy that exudes quality leadership skills, is a the quintessentail family guy and is very well respected amongst not only his fans but his peers.

He won 2 NBA championships, was the MVP in one of them, scored over twenty thousand points and played in the league with one team for 14 years! Those are just some of the meaty facts about Mr. Robinson's playing days in the NBA but his career stats go so much farther than that.

Off the court, he has been a man that has done so much for the city of San Antonio, especially when it comes to the kids. When I was living in San Antonio it was not uncommon to turn on the news that evening to see David at a cahrity event or hosting one. He is a big fan of talking to kids at schools to encourage them to finish classes and make something of themselves. He is such an avid believer in this that he started his own school called the Carver Academy. To date, he and his wife have donted over 11 million dollars to the school! Also, every month the NBA gives an award called the David Robinson Plaque to the most outstanding player in the league involved with community service.

If I had to choose a sports figure to be president it would definatley be the man that broke my heart in 2003 as his team beat mine in the Western Conference Finals, David Robinson.

Thanks Wikipedia for your stats! Cool

As I watched the morning news to see where all the death and robbing was taking place around this great land of ours, a story came up regarding the closing of various Starbucks around town. I got to thinking,"What is all the hype?"

Is a store that sells unpronounceable named coffee that big of a deal? I have been to one Starbucks and it was to do a bit for a radio station. You know what the bit was? I walked in with a bullhorn and yelled, "YOU CAN DRINK COFFEE AT HOME AND SURF THE INTERNET THERE AS WELL! YOU'RE ALL BEING DUPED!" It didn't go over all that well with the management and the clientele for that matter.

I just don't get it. Its never made sense to me to go sit at a place that serves coffee and surf the Internet. Now, you can make the argument of, "Why would anyone want to go to a bar and drink alcohol and hangout?"

Well, that's a good argument. Lets save it for later.

People go to Starbucks to get a coffee and then bury their face in a book or mercilessly bang away on their laptops. Its a place that anti-social people go to be social, all the while, not speaking to each other or making eye, completely cancelling out their effort to be social!

So what is it that I am missing? Good coffee? It doesn't exist. Iced Coffee? The sight of it makes me want to gag. Indie music? Ehhh.... I'm around music all the time. Fluffy couches? I've got one.

Now am I being cynical a bit? Probably. I don't drink coffee. To me its like putting hot liquid death in my mouth regardless of if its hot or not.

So the point of this rant was to rant about why there needed to be a full fledged news package shot and edited on the fact that nine of the 90 Starbucks in Dallas are closing. Quit being lazy and drive across the street or better yet walk across the street to the other Starbucks in your neighborhood.

Frappolattechinomocha anyone?
