This morning, I'm sitting in on a forum about community newspapers. Someone expressed the idea of readers of local newspapers feeling a sense of ownership, calling the local paper "my paper." (more)

Sure, ethics and accuracy are important. But as I headed to the Centennial this morning, I was reminded of two items that are still more important. (more)

Walter Williams, the founding dean of the Missouri School ofJournalism, thought that journalists working for a community paper could make abigger impact than journalists working at an urban paper, according to LeeWilkins, one of the authors of Journalism – 1908: Birth of a Profession.

The status of journalism as a profession is a big argument among journalists. Do all journalists need to be educated as journalists? Should there be some sort of journalism license? (more)
