UT vs. Wyoming

Unfortunately, due to the Direct TV and Versa issues I was not able to catch the game! My family and I made a valiant effort. We braved our way through the rain to Fox Sports Grill, 3rd Base Sports Bar and Grill and a Buffalo Wild Wings with no success. No one was playing the game! After much searching we settled on going to the grocery store to buy the essentials to make homemade guacamole and went home to watch the Michigan vs. Notre Dame game, which also peaked our interest since our whole extended family is from Michigan.

As the scores flashed at the bottom of the screen we quickly realized that our Horns weren't rising to the Wyoming challenge. We thought we would make a killing and instead we were up by three. At the half the score was UT 6, Wyoming 3. The Longhorns are notorious for bringing their A game in the second half, so I wasn't worried quite yet.

According to the UT Athletics website, Colt McCoy completed 30 of 47 passes for 337 yards and three touchdowns. Not too shabby! Apparently the low score in the first half was due to two mistakes made by the special teams, which they eventually bounced back from with a final score of 41-10.

Our first real challenge of the season will come this Saturday against rivals Texas Tech. The Longhorns have something to prove after last season's upset, so I expect to see a stellar performance! HOOK 'EM HORNS!

The Longhorns looked great! They came out victorious with a win of 59-20 over University of Louisiana Monroe. Colt McCoy and childhood friend Jordan Shipley once again demonstrated what a great relationship they have on the field with a 78-yard touchdown. The highlight of the game, for me, would have to be the 89 yard kick off return that Freshman D.J. Monroe made.

This Saturday, Sept. 12 the Longhorns will take on Wyoming at 2:30pm.

On another note, OU Quarterback, Sam Bradford will be out for 2-4 weeks due to a sprained right shoulder. The Sooners lost their first game of the season 14-13 to BYU after Bradford went down late in the game.
