Neighborsgo.com is the neighborhood news site of The Dallas Morning News.
Residents of more than 75 communities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area post stories, photos and blogs directly online.
Editors identify the timeliest and most relevant material and "reverse-publish" it into neighborsgo, a print newspaper
that appears weekly in 17 editions covering 39 area communities.
Where does the information on neighborsgo.com come from?
You, your friends, families, neighbors, schools, community groups and houses of worship.
What kind of material does neighborsgo accept?
If it's positive and it's happening in your community, we want to know about it so we can help spread the good news.
What kind of news does neighborsgo not accept?
Blatant attempts to sell products, spam contributors or ask for money. Posted material must relate
to the communities we serve in some fashion.
What should I do if I see something inappropriate on this site?
Tell us about it immediately. All content that is posted has a "report as objectionable" option.
We want this to be a safe, stress-and-spam-free online destination, and we need your help
to make it so.
How can I start submitting items for neighborsgo?
Start by creating a profile.. It's free, and the questions aren't too personal.
What is the neighborsgo policy regarding privacy, my name and my information?
Curiously enough, we have a privacy policy that outlines and explains everything in excruciating detail.
Can I submit photos?
Yes. Plus stories and videos. You can also create blogs, groups and calendar items and contribute to forums.
When will my news appear?
Online, as soon as you post it. In print, information will be published on a space-available basis, at the discretion
of our editors. For a chance to appear in print on Friday, stories and photos should be submitted by noon
of the previous Friday. (e.g., to appear in the March 27 print edition, your material should be online by March 20.)
What if my community or area is not listed on the site?
Drop us a line at community@neighborsgo.com and we'll consider adding it.
If I post a story or photo here, will it automatically appear in print?
Not necessarily. It depends on whether a print neighborsgo publication exists in your area and how much room
there is in a particular edition. It also depends on the submitted material's timeliness, quality and relevance
to the community we serve in print. Editors can't promise when a posted story or photo will appear in print. In fact,
the only way to ensure that information about an event will appear on a given date in print is to purchase an ad with us.
