Why do I need to sign up?
The site is free, but you need to create a profile before you can post your news and events or comment on other people's material. We encourage contributors to use their real names and photos. Why? Three reasons:
1. Because real communities are made up of real people doing positive things, not anonymous avatars hiding behind clever screen names.
2. If/when we run your online posts in one of our 18 print editions, we need to know whom to credit.
3. It's 2009 - anonymous comments and hidden identities are so 1999.
