The Frisco City Ballet and the Donna Ross School of Classical Ballet will perform the "Chinese Tea" section from Peter Tchaikovsky's 19th century classic "The Nutcracker". Since Donna Ross has three lovely, talented Chinese-American students, (Daming Lin, Catherine Xie, and Yingjiee Wang) she thought what better way to "play to our strengths" than to have these adorable Asian children play the roles of the "Chinese Tea" dancers from Act II of "The Nutcracker"!! I think you will agree that they are perfect for their roles!
The choreography is by Donna Ross after the great Russian choreographer and frequent collaborator with Tchaikovsky, Marius Petipa. "The Nutcracker" was first performed in St. Petersburg at the Maryinsky Theater with what is now the Kirov Ballet. More can be learned about "The Nutcracker" at www.wikipedia.com.

Warm regards,
Donna Ross, Director
