State Representative Allen Vaught
About Me
My Interests:
Me in My Words: I live with my wife Donna, son Jonathan and daughter Morgan in Lakewood Heights. I was elected to the Texas House of Representatives on November 7th, 2006 to represent District 107, which covers the areas surrounding White Rock Lake (including Lakewood), parts of Lake Highlands, Garland & Mesquite. I am honored to serve as your State Rep.
Interests: spending time with my family, history, the outdoors, fishing; legislative priorities include improving our education system and our air quality, and helping consumers by finding common sense solutions to issues that affect us.
Favorite Sports Teams: I had a brief football career at Baylor University, and I continue to be a fan of my struggling Bears. My wife is an Aggie, so a certain Saturday each November is painful for me. Also, I am a native North Texan, so I am therefore a Cowboys fan.
Interesting things for other users to know: I am a huge history buff. I try to read historical non-fiction every night before going to sleep. I think history repeats itself, and those who do not know history are more likely to repeat it.

Repeating History Isn't Always Bad! - July 14, 2008 - 09:04 AM
Thanks for the friendship request. A Baylor Bear and an Aggie, huh? We've got a Longhorn (me) and a Razorback (my wife) here! Talk about history, it makes me yearn for the good-old days of the Southwest Conference! I'm a history buff as well and love the idea of it repeating with another UT National Championship! Thanks again for the request.
