Early St Patrick’s Day Bash at SpringPark Community Center – March 13

by Melody Vermeire, Club Manager

The SpringParkCommunity Center of Garland and Richardson is so fortunate to have the opportunity to host the Celtic music group, Beyond the Pale, for a night of Irish celebration. This will be our early St. Patrick’s Day Bash.

SpringPark has so much hidden talents. Two band members: Gordon and Christy McLeod  live in SpringPark. Other band members are Betsy Cummings and John Delaney.

Bring your favorite beer or wine and come for music and an Irish themed dinner of salad and baked potato bar with all the trimmings and dessert. Traditional Irish potatoes are compliments of Central Market.

This event will be on March 13 starting at 6:30 until 9 p.m. Music starts at 7 p.m. Adults $10 and Kids $7; RSVP with payment by March 10 for dinner and reserved seating. Walk-ins welcome for music only; reservations are recommended.

SpringParkCommunity Center is located at 3330 SpringPark Way in Garland. Call for more info or to make a reservation with CC 972-495-4464.

If this event is successful, it may lead to a regular schedule of musical concerts in SpringPark.

About the Band:

Beyond The Pale’s eclectic and diverse mix of traditional Celtic and contemporary style is the key to their popularity. Their material has been honestly acquired during many all night sessions in the pubs of Ireland, Europe and US.. Expect the unexpected as fiddle, flute, hammered dulcimer, accordion, guitar, saxophone, whistles, concertina and percussion hold you in a melodic spell and whisk you around the dance floor.  And the entire band sings, from well-crafted original songs to imaginative versions of contemporary songs ranging from 1930's music hall songs to stunning acappella pieces to Grand Ole Opry favorites and classics from the British  pop invasion...Beatles to Bluegrass!

Beyond the Pale has been featured several times on KERA's Glenn Mitchell Show  and NPR Red River Radio as well as some of the largest  music festivals in the USA, including The North Texas Irish Festival , Red River Revels (Shreveport), Grapefest and Grapevine Main Street Days , (Grapevine, Texas), Dallas City Arts Festival,  Taste of Addison, Texas Scottish Festival & Highland Games andRed River Radio's Americana Fest.
