The Annual Miss and Mr. Dallas Talent and Modeling Event will be held March 8, 2008, from 10:00 till finished at Calico Kids Performance Center, 1456 Belt Line Rd., Garland Texas.

Pictured is Krista Searles, 2007 Miss Dallas Talent who was selected by the judges as Outstanding Performer of the Competition.She is the 5 yr old daughter of Lisa and Michael Searles, all of Rowlett.Krista’s Grandparents are: Joe & Patti Misek of Blossom, Tx and Don & Norma Searles of Mattoon, Ilinois. Krista is in her 3rd year of Calico Kids renowned Kiddie College Preschool where she learns Tap, Ballet, Twirling, Gymnastics, Acting, Singing, Modeling and Outstanding Academic work.

Miss/Mr. Dallas Talent & Model Event is a fund raiser put on by the Calico Booster Club for its scholarship fund. This year’s recipient is Melinda Plunk who is Twirler and Flag Corp member at GarlandHigh School and will attend StephenF.AustinStateUniversity in the fall. Melinda has been with Calico Kids Dance Twirl Gymnastics Karate Cheer Voice Acting & Music Studio since she was a 1st grader and has been in all of the studio's Elite Show Teams for years. She holds many titles in Dance, and Twirling. Melinda received a 1 rating on her twirling at University Interscholastic League Twirling District competition and will go for Outstanding Performance at The University of Texas at Austin Memorial Day Weekend.

Every girl receives a crown, flowers and a title with the top winner receiving a larger crown and the main title, Miss Dallas Talent or Miss Dallas Model.

Boys who enter the Mr. Dallas Talent and Mr. Dallas Model event will receive a large trophy and title.Top winner will receive a larger trophy and the main title, Mr. Dallas Talent or Mr. Dallas Model.

Age divisions are:0 to 23 mos. - 2 yrs. - 3yrs. old – 4 yrs. - 5 - 6 yrs. old

7 to 8 yrs. – 9 to 10 yrs. - 11 to 12 yrs. – 13 to 14 yrs. 15 to 16 yrs.

17 to 18 yrs. 19& over

The event is open to any individual who would like to spend a fun day where they can gain a lot of experience in performing any talent (song, dance, twirl, gymnastics, play an instrument. Keyboard available. You may also enter Dresswear or Casual wear Modeling or both and you may also do modeling and talent if you wish.

Anyone wishing to enter will be given a free workshop explaining exactly what to do in the modeling part of the event. You will also be allowed to rehearse your talent.

Workshop & rehearsal will be Thursday March 6 at 7:00 pm. at Calico Kids, 1456 Belt Line Rd., Garland, TexasRemember there is no charge for the workshop and rehearsal.
