The Sachse HS Swingsters varsity drill team swept away the competition at a regional dance contest held Saturday, February 23rd, at Rowlett HS walking away with an impressive 37 awards.
 
The Swingsters were entered in a total of 12 categories (team and officers) not including the solo performances that were entered.  Their day began at 8:30am and did not end until around 11:30pm.  They performed consistently with virtually flawless performances.  Their final performance of the evening was their show performance themed from the movie, Hairspray. 
 
March 28-29 will be a national competition held at University of North Texas in Denton.  Wish the Swingsters luck as they compete for the national title.

Captain Ashley Holliman and sophomore Elise Smith were also finalists in the solo competition.  Ashley Holliman received 2nd runner up and Elise Smith won 1st place.
 
Swingsters director, Brittany Shaver, also received the ATS Tours and Travel award for Outstanding Teams.
