Ribbon-cutting ceremonies were held Feb. 26 to mark the completion of the reconstruction and widening of Addison Road from Belt Line Road to just north of the Arapaho Road intersection.
The $2.5 million construction project completely rebuilt the four-lane roadbed, added a continuous left turn lane in a contrasting paving material, and improved sidewalks. Trees and landscaping impacted by widening the road were replaced and enhanced.
“Today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony is just the first step in the planned improvement of Addison Road from Belt Line to Keller Springs, “explained Mayor Joe Chow. “Because of the size of these projects, they will be executed in two phases over the next several years. We also plan to completely rebuild the Keller Springs- Addison Road intersection by adding additional turn lanes to improve traffic flow.”
One of the speakers at the ceremony was Dallas County Commissioner Maurine Dickey. Dallas County contributed $860,000 toward replacing needed infrastructure as part of the widening project.
