On Monday, February 25th, The Mesquite Chamber hosted a Candidates' Forum for the two candidates for the Republican Primary (TX 101). Todd Price (of First State Bank) emceed. Both candidates were asked a series of questions concerning pressing matters of our district. Incumbent, Thomas Latham and challenger, Mike Anderson were both in attendance as well as their spouses some of their family and a large number of supporters from both sides. Also in attendance were many VIP's of Mesquite including the Honorable Mayor John Monaco, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Shirley Roberts, many of our City Counsel, Dr. Linda Henrie, many of the MISD administration and even our recently retired Chief Gary Westphal. The Chamber partnered with MISD and MISD Community Education to make this event possible and we are very appreciative because it is plain to see by the turn out that there was great interest to hear what our candidates had to say. There will be at least two more Forums this year as the elections for City Counsel and Mayor approach. Thanks to all who were in attendance! We hope to see you later in the year as well.
