Members of Ascension Lutheran Church, 4230 W. Buckingham Road in Garland have been collecting items to put into Easter baskets for the past weeks.  Some have been thinking about getting enough bags of Easter grass, stuffing plastic eggs with wrapped candy, and acquiring such things as toothbrushes, stuffed toys, stickers, and new pencils.  Because these members appreciate their own blessings and want to help others, this project has become an annual event.  On Saturday morning, March 8, Ascension members and friends assembled 150 Easter baskets.  These will be given to Lutheran Church of the Way, a chinese ministry in Richardson, to Good Samaritan of Garland, and to New Beginning Center of Garland.
