Liberty High School's Dance Team, Red Rhythm, brought home numerous trophies from two recent contests. On February 23, Red Rhythm competed in the American Drill Team Texas Dance Classic in Rowlett. The team went home with a Sweepstakes award, the Gussie Nell Davis award and Judge's awards for all three of their dance routines. The team also received special recognition for Outstanding Choreography and Outstanding Presentation and had the 4th highest score of the all the high school teams, of any size, that competed.
On March 8, the winning continued at the Crowd Pleasers Dallas Showcase where Red Rhythm won the Showcase Elite trophy for being one of the top 5 teams in the entire competition. They also won Best in Class for their Pom and Novelty routines and 1st runner-up for their Military routine. The team also won a Super Sweepstakes and was named 1st runner-up Grand Champion for medium size teams.
This is only the second year for this talented dance team. The team consists of 24 dedicated members and is directed by Ms. Denise Stepp. The team will host their first annual spring show, The Red Rhythm Revue, on April 18-19 in the auditorium at Liberty High School in Frisco.
