My son also attends Meadowview. He has been going there for 3 years, since being diagnosed with dyslexia. He attended public school and they were unable to teach him in a style that would make him a succesful reader. Since attending Meadowview not only has his ability to read and write soared his confidence in himself has improved immeasurably!! The teachers at Meadowview are so dedicated to helping the kids and are so patient with them that it provides a safe environment for the kids to learn. The staff at Meadowview understand the difficulties what a Learning Disablity does not only to the child but also to the family as a whole. It would be an injustice for the Board to shut Meadowview down due to lack of money. For the last 3 years my family has had to take a loan out to send our son their and it has been worth every dime!!! The quality of education the kids receives can not and will not be duplicated in our public school which is ashame!! Our school systems are not equiped to handle and work with children with the types of Learning Disablities that Meadowview does. Yes, they offer assistance to the kids, but I don't want my son to pass a test or to the next grade based on that he has a diagnosed Learning Disability. I want my son to be equiped with the tools necessary to thrive and be succesful!! Meadowview does that. Meadowview has provide a safe thriving environment that is equipping him. I am not against public school, I have two daughters that are doing great in public school, but they do not have the same challenges that my son does. We need and must have this school for children like my son who needs it!
