Highland Park Students Honored in Annual District Art Show

0 Ratings / 0 Comments

The annual HPISD Fine Arts Department District Art Show, Highlander Festival, was held March 11-14 at HP High School.  Students whose art work had been chosen for the exhibit were honored on March 12 with a reception at HPHS where their art work was on display.

For the annual Highlander Art Festival, twelve works of art from each elementary school and from the teachers at the upper schools are chosen to be hung for the show, and from those works some are selected to be framed and hung in the administrative offices for the following year.  The art is chosen by the art teachers at each school to represent some of the best work done at their school during the current year.  For the art teachers, it is a wonderful opportunity to watch their students work over the years as they progress, and everyone enjoys the opportunity to see what is being done on each campus.
