April's "Coffee and Conversation" meeting at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church features guest speaker Dr. Nancy K. Ferrell. She'll speak on ways to deal with family conflict. All are welcome to come enjoy hot coffee and lively conversation on Sunday, April 13 from 8:15-9:15 a.m.
Dr. Ferrell’s topic, “Transforming Family Conflict” will address the need to disengage or redefine family relationships as needs change within the family structure. Challenges do not have to result in the demolition of a family's past or estrangement in a family's future. Family decisions regarding parents, children, grandchildren, or inheritance do not have to be a source for constant conflict and damaged relationships. Attend to learn basic skills that may minimize the destructive nature of conflicts and maximize the potential for growth. Everyone within the family may achieve a better understanding of the family dynamics.
Dr. Ferrell fills the position of Director of Clergy and Congregation Care (CCC) at The Pastoral Counseling and Education Center (PCEC) of Dallas. This new ministry means that PCEC has additional services available to the members and friends of PHPC.
Mediation and conflict resolution services and training are available through Dr Ferrell and her team. Recently, Dr Ferrell presented a four-hour workshop, sponsored by Stephen Ministry at Preston Hollow, entitled “Release the Spirit of Peace.” We welcome Dr Ferrell again to tackle the topic of family conflict for our early Sunday morning discussion class.Coffee and Conversation gatherings are held on the second Sunday of each month.
No reservations are needed to attend. Just come to Jubilee Hall at 8:15am Sunday morning April 13, 2008. The class will conclude at 9:15 a.m. Questions? Contact Dee Wadsworth, Director of Emeritus Ministry at 214-368-6348 extension 118.Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church
