The Hexter Early Childhood PTA spent a fun-filled Saturday morning on March 29, when they visited their local fire station.
The children and their families got to meet the staff at the station on Garland Road. They learned about fire safety, and how to recognize a firefighter dressed in full protective gear. They toured the station and saw all the equipment and apparatus. They even got to spray the water hose and slide down the pole. A few of the braver parents slid down the pole as well!
Afterwards the families met for a picnic at the Stone Tables. Both children and adults were impressed with the very important jobs of our firefighters and paramedics.
This is just one of the many fun and educational events sponsored by Hexter Early Childhood PTA. We are open to families of children age 0-6 years, who live within the boundaries of Hexter Elementary (regardless of where they attend school).
