Lots'a Matzah at Levine Academy
The Israelites may have had only 18 minutes to bake their matzah and high-tail it out of Egypt, but the students at Ann and Nate Levine Academy spent the entire day making matzah at their annual Matzah Factory on April 2. Each year prior to the holiday of Passover, which celebrates the exodus from Egypt and the giving of the Ten Commandments, LevineAcademy students study the holiday and its significance through text and activities. The most anticipated activity is the Matzah Factory where the students typically cover themselves in flour and as they mix, pat, roll, and pierce the dough. The end product…a crispy, flat “replica” of the matzah the Israelites took with them out of Egypt.
