Booker T. Washington High School, with permission from the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department and Shakespeare Festival of Dallas, will perform William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at Samuel Grand Park in Dallas. Under the direction of Charlton Gavitt the show was originally scheduled to be the opening show at Booker T.'s rebuilt school in the Art District Downtown. As the opening date of the new school was postponed, Gavitt started looking for a new home for the show. The outdoor amphitheatre was the perfect venue and with the generosity of Dallas Parks and Recreation and Shakespeare Festival of Dallas it was made possible. With a cast and crew of over 25 and student designed and built set and costumes, the show will have the feel of a professional "Shakespeare in the Park" production.
Show dates are Wednesday 4/9 and Thursday 4/10 at 6:30 pm. Friday 4/11 and Saturday 4/12 at 7:00 pm and a matinee Saturday 4/12 at 2:00 pm. Samuel Grand Park is located at 6200 East Grand Avenue, Dallas, 75223.
Admission price is $5 adults, $3 children and students. Concessions will be available for purchase and sand chairs for rental.
