Connie Jordan, an abstract artist from Irving, will present a seminar from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 at the IrvingArtsCenter. Repaint Your Life: Create a Life in Art is free and open to artists and art enthusiasts who are looking to increase their exposure in the art community.

Jordan will share tips learned from her own experiences to show artists how to market and sell their work. She’ll share her passion for her craft and how she created a life through her art.

"I don't make a living from my art – I make a life," said Jordan. "If your way is not working, I am offering an alternative.”

Jordan’s art has been seen in galleries and private collections across the country and is created predominately with oil on canvas. She also worked as a scenic artist for Walker Texas Ranger, Pure Country and Problem Child II.

Participants will have an opportunity to pre-order the book, Repaint Your Life: Create a Life in Art. The book is based on the life and philosophies of Connie Jordan and is written by Kathryn E. Eriksen. Repaint Your Life offers unique insights and valuable advice on how a life in art is created, as well as exercises, tools and techniques to market and sell your work.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Since the age of 18, Jordan has supported herself through her art. Her mother was Irish and her father was an Apache Indian. The unique heritages of her parents shaped Jordan’s experiences in life and in art. After losing her dad to Parkinson’s disease, she decided to donate 25% of her profits to Parkinson’s foundations and 10% to other organizations.
