I am writing to support Rachel Lopez in her campaign for election to the Mesquite City Council Place 4.  I have known Rachel for almost 15 years as a neighbor, friend, and colleague in the MCPAAA.  As long as I have known her, Rachel has been committed to making Mesquite a better place to live.  She has been actively involved in our homeowner’s association for over 14 years, both as a participant and as a block captain.  She organizes the annual National Night Out for our subdivision and puts together Crime Watch meetings. She is one of those rare people who don’t just live in a neighborhood but feel she needs to be active in making that neighborhood a better place to be. Her list of service organizations that she is not just a member of but actively involved in shows her passion and pride in making Mesquite not just a place to live, but a better place to live. It’s not just a question of do we need her voice at city hall but how can we afford not to?  I feel it is an honor to call Rachel a friend and look forward to calling her councilwoman.
