There is electricity in the air in Mesquite.  We are very close to the May election.  The races are tight and we have some very good candidates all around.  One of these candidates is Rachel Lopez who is running for Council Place 4.

She doesn’t need any introductions but I want to share her background for those who haven’t met her.  She is a Board member of her son’s school and she is an active member of the Mesquite Service League, Mesquite Fire Corps, Mesquite Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association, and the Real Texas Festival Steering Committee, just to name a few.

It is with great pleasure that I write to you today to endorse the candidacy of Rachel Lopez to the City Council race Place 4.   We have known each other for several years as we have worked together to promote and grow the Hispanic Forum of Mesquite which we helped found.  Also, as members of the Mesquite Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association, we have been out to several neighborhoods in Mesquite during deployment exercises held by the Mesquite Police Department.

Rachel is dynamic and very organized.  Rachel, who served on the Parks and Recreation Board, for our City, has gained vast knowledge from the City’s perspective which will assist her in the daily endeavors of the City Council.  She has been able to learn how the Council decisions are made and how they affect you and me.  Rachel is the perfect Council member for us.  She has no special agenda except for what is good for Mesquite and its citizens.

Rachel cares very much for the City of Mesquite and I submit that she brings a new, fresh and positive perspective to our City Council.

Because of these reasons I want to ask that you support my friend in this race.  You will not be disappointed with the results of her committed performance to better our wonderful City.
