The stars were aligned on Sunday, April 13 at “Israeli Nights,” the Ann and Nate Levine Academy Annual Gala and Auction. The event broke all records bringing in over $110,000 and counting, with more than 400 guests in attendance. “The excitement was overwhelming and the evening can be summed-up in two words: spirit and sophistication,” stated Gala Co-Chair Amy Schachter. “Never before had we had this type of response for our Gala. We reached our maximum number of reservations and, unfortunately, had to put many on a waiting list.” Those 400-plus guests, lucky enough to reserve a spot, reconnected with old friends, enjoyed a delicious dinner by Spice of Life Catering, danced to the sensational music of Emerald City, and were treated to a spectacular silent auction and exciting live auction. LorenJacobson ‘88, current LevineAcademy parent and ColumbiaLawSchool graduate, capped-off the evening with her heartfelt speech about how LevineAcademy gave her the solid academic foundation for her educational journey and instilled in her a love for Judaism.
Levine Academy would like to extend deep appreciation to AmySchachter and MelanieWynne, the Israeli Nights 2008 Gala and Auction Chairs, to Auction Chair Linda Cooper, to Parent Association President LaurenBusch, and to the many dedicated committee members who worked tirelessly to plan a spectacular evening. A thank you also goes to the many underwriters and donors who offered financial support and gave so generously to the auction, the businesses that supported LevineAcademy through the donation of in-kind services and to everyone who bid on auction items and attended the event.
