St. Pius X Catholic School Student Council coordinated a stuffed animal collection to benefit Mission East Dallas. The collection was held May 2, 2008 at the all school First Friday Mass.
The collection was inspired by the student council members’ visit to Mission East Dallas in March. Several of the students spent time doing community service work at MED then received a tour of the facility. The students were very touched by the good works performed at MED by so many volunteers and saw a need with which the school students could help. The stuffed animals will be given to the many children that visit MED for medical and other services throughout the year.
St. Pius X Catholic School students in grades kinder through eighth participated in the collection and contributed approximately 300 stuffed animals to the collection. Many students commented on the need to give to others and live the parish motto to “Love One Another”
