On Saturday, April 26, twenty-six ladies, representing four chapters of the Red Hat Society, met at Mary Ellen's Tea Room in Richardson to celebrate the 10-Year Anniversary of the Red Hat Society. Participating chapters were the X-Citing X-Centrics of Plano, the Big D Re-Gals of Dallas, the Red Hat Madames of Mesquite and the Lone Star Hatters of Dallas. The tea was sponsored by the North Texas Queens Circle and planned by NTQC Coordinator, Queen Wendy Stephens of the X-Citing X-Centrics.
Queen Cynthia Houck of the Big D Re-Gals read Warning, Jenny Joseph's poem that was the inspiration for the Red Hat Society. Each lady introduced herself, and Queen Wendy led a discussion of events that the different chapters had held.
Since this first member tea was so successful, the NTQC intends to plan future lunches or dinners for circle member chapters.
