The City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department held its first annual Cinco de Mayo Softball Tournament on Saturday May 3^rd. Over thirty teams participated in the tournament at the Kiest Softball Complex in Oak Cliff.A portion of the proceeds benefited the Hispanic soldiers and their families serving our country in Iraq. Tournament organizer and Kiest Complex Manager, Barbara Barnette coordinated a fantastic family event including face-painting, great food, a raffle contest, a home run derby, local sports vendors, a piñata contest and a variety of give-a-ways.
