The Company of Rowlett Performers is a non-profit theatre company performing in the North Texas (Dallas Co.) area. They offer acting opportunities to over 300 actors/year with their season performances.
As part of the theatre company, we have created an Intern Leadership program for students age 12 –21. The Intern program offers opportunities to learn about theatre from the ground up, they become an integral part of our company’s success. Interns are responsible for many aspects of theatre production from construction, budgeting, publicity, stage and house management and technical positions at each of our shows. Each intern is required to complete a minimum number of volunteer hours to remain in good standing. The intern program currently has openings for 25 interns.
This May, two of our interns, Rowlett High School Seniors, Will Fox and Eric Babin successfully completed the Intern Leadership program. They both earn the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (Gold Level) for over 500 volunteer hours supporting C.O.R.P.! They also worked through the intern job requirements and earned their required points, which allowed them to direct one of our shows. Will and Eric will both be attending college in the fall and will be presented with scholarships from the Intern Scholarship program this May at their High School Graduation.
