Bluebonnet Elementary has its Eyes on Africa.

On April 18th, the students of Bluebonnet Elementary participated in a 'Pay It Forward' Day to benefit “Eyes on Africa” an organization founded by former Flower Mound High School student, Jeff Lakusta.

The students were asked to donate $1.00 to pay for a privilege they normally do not receive……to dress up as their favorite book character for a day. The students raised $517.00. The proceeds will benefit the children of the Othandweni Orphanage of South Africa. The idea to support the charity was suggested by, Clara Perkins, a first grader at Bluebonnet Elementary. She asked Principal Sharon Burris, to consider donating funds from the school’s upcoming Pay It Forward Day to benefit this organization. The students of Bluebonnet were very generous and the fundraiser was a great success!
