Bennett Elementary Supports Relay for Life
Bennett Elementary participated in the Relay for Life on April 25th. The Bennett Student Council Team raised almost $1,800 in contributions for the American Cancer Society by doing a Coins For Cancer drive in which the students, their families, and staff donated spare change and/or dollar bills. They also held a student helper silent auction for the teachers. The students auctioned themselves to assist the teachers with classroom tasks, such as creating or removing bulletin boards, typing, cleaning, and even gardening.
The Staff Team raised money by holding a slime a-thon. Each staff member had a cup that the students could place money into. A student and staff member from each grade level and the adminstrative team with the most money in their cups will be "slimed" in May at the Friday Live assembly. This event raised $2,300 for the A.C.S.
