SpringPark Women's Club Installation and Hat Luncheon

0 Ratings / 0 Comments

Wednesday, May 14, the SPWC held their annual Installation and Hat Luncheon at the beautiful home of Dorothy Morris on Woods Lane.  The women enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by the Chocolate Angel Restaurant of Richardson, which included their signature trio salad.  This consisted of chicken salad with dried cranberries and toasted pecans, broccoli raisin salad and Nana's strawberry pretzel congealed salad. Desserts were from La Madeline Bakery which were petite fruit tarts and chocolate shooters.  Each table was decorated with fresh flowers in decorative sprinkling cans.  The hostesses were Dorothy Morris, Jackie deCamp and Delinda Wilson.

Carol Goings, President, brought the meeting to order.  Margaret Hewitt, Vice President, took the ladies down memory lane of the past year and had pictures to show of our outings which included Talbot's Fashion Show, tour of Old Red Museum in downtown Dallas, a wine presentation from Glazers, holiday luncheon at Southfork Ranch, speaker from Southeastern Guide Dogs, performance from "The Living Opera", walking tour of tunnels and sky-walks in downtown Dallas, and a home organization speaker.  Carol then had the former board members come to the front and thanked them for their service and presented each with a gift.  She then installed the new board members and presented them for the new year with a small vase with a decorative silk flower.  They are:

Carol Goings, President; Margaret Hewitt, Vice President; Carolyn Trundle, Treasurer; Bettye Laesch and Sylvia Cohen, Publicity; Jackie deCamp, Greeter; Nancy Barrington, Newcomer Greeter; Sharon Raasch, Hospitality; Barbara Seagren and Dorothy Morris, Special Events; and Pam Bearden, Yearbook

The ladies voted on their favorite hats.  Carol Goings had the prettiest, Dorothy Morris had the most amusing, and Sharon Raasch had the most original.  Each winner got their choice of the beautiful table decorations.  Three other lucky winners who had a special note under their chairs won the other rose table decoration.

A special President's gift was presented to Carol Goings for her excellent year as our leader.

The SpringPark Women's Club will have the summer off and resume in September.
