St. Alcuin Montessori School’s Groundbreaking Ceremony

On Tuesday May 20th, under a huge white tent, the St. Alcuin community gathered to officially break ground for the school’s expansion and renovation. Students, faculty, staff, parents, Mayor Tom Leppert and Council members Linda Koop and Ron Natinsky were all in attendance.  Mayor Leppert delivered a Proclamation declaring May 20th as St. Alcuin Day. Local radio personality, Kellie Rasberry was the afternoon’s Mistress of Ceremonies and directed the digging.

 

St. Alcuin’s capital campaign, Open the Next Door has raised $13 million of the $20 million needed for the project. Construction for The Shaun Underhill Library and CommunityBuilding and GalbraithFamilyMiddle School, has officially begun and will continue through the next school year.  View the school’s plans for the expansion at, www.openthenextdoor.org.
